This Summer NYC Courthouse Wedding was one of those days that felt extra special from the very beginning. This couple traveled all the way from Ireland to get married in New York City, and instead of keeping things minimal or adults-only, they made it a full-on family experience! It was elevated, intentional, and deeply personal, the kind of day that proves courthouse weddings can still feel incredibly meaningful and full. From including their children during the ceremony to wandering the city together afterward, the entire day felt less like a photoshoot and more like a genuine New York adventure with the people they love most!
A Family-Focused Summer NYC Wedding
One of the things I loved most about this Summer NYC Courthouse Wedding is how thoughtfully they included their kids. New York City courthouses allow up to six people total (including the couple and photographer), which meant they were able to have their children right there with them as they got married. Watching them hold hands during the ceremony, share quiet smiles, and soak in the moment together was incredibly sweet. It felt calm and intimate without feeling rushed, just a family celebrating love in a way that made sense for them. This is such a good reminder that intimate weddings don’t mean leaving your people behind.
Confetti, City Streets & Letting the Kids Lead the Way
After the ceremony, we stepped outside and celebrated with confetti, a small moment that somehow felt huge. From there, we wandered through downtown Manhattan, letting the kids take in the sights, sounds, and nonstop energy of the city. They were completely in their element, wide-eyed and curious, pointing things out and making the walk feel playful and fun! These are the moments that make a Summer NYC Courthouse Wedding feel so special, when the timeline slows down just enough to let real life happen and the memories unfold naturally!
Hot Dog Carts, City Snacks & True New York Vibes During Their NYC Courthouse Wedding
Their one non-negotiable request for the day? Hot dogs from a classic New York City hot dog cart, obviously we made that happen. It ended up being one of the most iconic parts of the day! Seeing them grab snacks, laugh together, and enjoy the city exactly as it is felt so perfectly “New York.” It wasn’t about perfection or tradition, it was about experience. Elevated, yes, but also relaxed, fun, and completely true to who they are as a family.
